Feeding America

Back during the days of the depression, my mother's family struggled for food. They managed to survive on inexpensive staples like pasta and bread and lived on the vegetables from their garden. Today, with so many people out of work the Food Banks of our nation can't keep up with the demand.

September is Hunger Action Month. Please take a moment to visit Feeding America ( to locate a food bank in your area. If you see a barrel collecting food at your local market, bank or service station, please consider purchasing an extra can of soup, or a box of pasta shells. It can go a long way to fill an empty stomach.
